- Abstract
The article focuses on a study which examined the link between physical activity and long-term weight changes among women who consume usual diet. The study included 34,079 healthy women in the U.S. who were followed from 1992 to 2007 based on their metabolic equivalent (MET) expenditures. Study authors found an interaction between body mass index (BMI) and MET expenditures. They also noted an inverse relationship between physical activity and weight gain. Study authors concluded that physical activity is associated with less weight gain among women with BMI lower than 25.
