The article discusses the legal tools that users have under the Digital Services Act (DSA) and the Digital Services Act (DDG) to enforce their rights against online platforms. The authors work for the Society for Civil Liberties e. V. and the "Center for User Rights" project, which aims to strengthen user rights. The example of LinkedIn and its advertising practices with sensitive data such as sexual orientation is explained, with the EU Commission making an information request to LinkedIn that led to the end of this practice.
