This article discusses the communication barriers faced by social workers when engaging with communities and proposes strategies to overcome these obstacles. The challenges include a lack of clear communication channels within the community, language and cultural barriers, limited resources and time constraints, emotional barriers and resistance to change, limited access to socio-economic factors, and a lack of digital technology awareness. The authors suggest strategies such as establishing trust and rapport, adapting communication styles to meet the needs of diverse populations, practicing active listening and empathy, and utilizing technology and social media for efficient communication. They also emphasize the importance of building partnerships and collaborating with other organizations to enhance communication efforts.
