- Abstract
Injuries occurring in sports have a negative impact on daily life and sports life of individuals. Although astroturf fields, which are frequently preferred by individuals for football, are a means of socialization, activity and leisure time, they can sometimes cause unwanted sports injuries. In this study, in which we aimed to examine the sports injury status of individuals playing football on astroturf fields according to different variables, 413 individuals playing football on astroturf fields in Muş-Bingöl-Bitlis-Elazığ and Erzurum provinces voluntarily participated. The personal information form developed by the researchers and the “The Scale of Factors Causing İnjury in Sports (SFCIS)” created by Koç and Kaynar (2023) were used as data collection tools. It was investigated whether there was a significant difference according to the participants' frequency of injury in sports, age, education level, regular sports practice and first aid training in sports. Descriptive statistics of the data and t-Test and One Way ANOVA tests for the comparison of two and more than two groups were performed through SPSS 23.0 package program and the significance level was accepted as p<0.05. It was observed that there were significant differences in the variables of regular sports practice, receiving first aid training in sports and frequency of sports injuries (p<0.05). It can be said that the level of consciousness of individuals has different effects. In particular, it is thought that practices aimed at increasing the level of knowledge of individuals about first aid in sports can reduce sports injuries that may occur.
