Title: Z CUKRU. RESTAUROVÁNÍ RELIÉFU NÁRODNÍHO DIVADLA.

Abstract: An unusual object made of sugar was severely degraded and damaged. There is a lack of case studies for such an atypical object and, therefore, suggestions from experts on chocolate and confectionery technology were needed concerning a suitable conservation strategy. Composition of the object was analysed and Paraloid B72, Aquazol 500 and Lascaux 303 HV adhesives were tested on mock-ups in order to find the most suitable one. The first set of samples was glued sugar to sugar only, while the second set of samples was sugar to sugar on glass. Storage conditions are crucial for a sugar object and an isolated atmosphere with silica gel is required.
