Abstract

This study was conducted to examine the relationship between borderline personality disorder and rejection sensitivity, self-disclosure level, and sexual satisfaction. The research included a total of 702 adult participants, 398 of whom were women and 304 of whom were men, who participated on a voluntary basis. A personal information form, the Borderline Personality Scale (BPS), the Rejection Sensitivity Scale (RSS), the Self-Disclosure Level in Romantic Relationships Scale (SDLRRS), and the New Sexual Satisfaction Scale (NSSS) were used. In the context of this study, statistical analyses were performed using SPSS 27 software. The results revealed a low-level negative relationship between the sub-dimensions of the selfdisclosure level in romantic relationships--namely openness, communication, sexual closeness--and affective rejection sensitivity. There was also a low-level negative relationship between sexual satisfaction and the level of self-disclosure in romantic relationships, and a low to medium-level positive relationship between the rejection sensitivity of borderline personality traits and the rejection sensitivity of the selfdisclosure level. A moderate positive correlation was found between sexual satisfaction and the level of self-disclosure in romantic relationships, and a low to medium-level negative correlation was found between borderline personality traits and the level of self-disclosure in romantic relationships. As a result, it was determined that borderline personality traits were related to sexual satisfaction, rejection sensitivity, and self-disclosure based on both literature research and findings. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between borderline personality disorder and rejection sensitivity, self-disclosure level, and sexual satisfaction in a descriptive research design.
