- Title
The Cass Review: A Game Changer in Gender Medicine
- Authors
McTavish, James; The National Catholic Bioethics Center
- Abstract
The Cass Review, released in April of 2024, was a study released by the NHS in England to study and review the available medical evidence supporting gender transition. The result was a scathing rebuke of past and current practices in the treatment of gender confused individuals. This article compares the Cass Review’s conclusions with statements and assertions made in opposition to gender ideology by Catholic leaders and intellectuals. The report, it seems, supports the Catholic Church’s position that gender-affirming care is harmful to individuals with gender identity issues.
