Abstract

The article presents a study which aims to detect the Toxoplasma gondii (T. gondii) DNA in sheep and goat milk in Northwest of Iran using the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method. The study is conducted in response to the widespread disease Toxoplasmosis in humans and many other species of warm-blooded animals. It reveals that the presence of T. gondii DNA in the milk of sheep and goats shows the transmission of parasite through consumption of raw milk.
