Abstract

The article titled "Palliative, supportive and hospice care: can we integrate all aspects?" is an editorial in the journal "Palliative Medicine in Practice." It includes a reprint of recommendations for managing pain in cancer patients, as well as original articles, reviews, a case report, and a conference report. The original articles cover topics such as the impact of hippocampal sparing during cranial irradiation on neurocognitive functions, the correlation between spiritual care competence and caring abilities among Polish nurses, and the experiences of parents who give birth to a baby with a lethal fetal diagnosis. The review articles discuss opioid-induced constipation and the use of blood transfusions in palliative care. The text also includes articles on the lack of guidelines for blood transfusions in palliative care, challenges faced in visiting patients during the COVID-19 pandemic, and a successful discharge of a terminally ill patient from the emergency department. The conference report provides information about upcoming conferences and invites readers to contribute to the journal.
