The United Kingdom has signed the United Nations Convention on International Settlement Agreements resulting from Mediation, also known as the Singapore Convention on Mediation. This convention provides legislative standards for the enforcement of international commercial settlement agreements resulting from mediation. While no EU member states have signed the convention, the UK announced its decision to sign after a public consultation and analysis of responses. The European Union is now considering whether to change its position on the convention and engage in discussions with stakeholders. The UK has signed the convention but has not yet ratified it, with ratification scheduled for 2024.
