Title: Measuring High Reliability in Hospital Perinatal Units.

Abstract: This paper reports the development and application of a scale to measure high reliability in hospital perinatal units. The High Reliability Perinatal Safety Assessment (HRPSA) is an objective scale based on widely accepted professional standards and practices administered by external observers to assess hospital perinatal safety. The HRPSA was conducted in 16 hospitals around the nation. We assessed the internal consistency and face validity of the scale.
