- Abstract
The pharmaceutical industry has complied with using the majority of natural polymers in its formulations due to the growing interest in these materials. In addition to the active pharmaceutical substances, several components are involved in the manufacturing of pharmaceutical formulations. Whether directly or indirectly, nature has given us a wealth of resources to support and maintain the health of all living creatures. Different dosage forms for both new and existing pharmacological and natural products have advanced significantly in recent years, and both synthetic and semi-synthetic excipients are frequently required for a range of applications. Mucilages and gum Acacia are common natural materials for both traditional and innovative dosage forms. Chilli and turmeric are used as colouring agents. Aroow Root starch is utilised as a diluent, filler and binder. An overview of natural excipients used in low-cost pharmaceutical dosage form formulation and controlled drug delivery systems is provided in this article. The natural excipient that is primarily utilised is biocompatible, economical and offers nutritional supplements.
