- Abstract
The article describes the case of a 2225-gram baby girl delivered vaginally in breech presentation to an unbooked, immunized, full-term, primigravid mother, 22 years of age, presenting in labor with footling presentation. It is noted that the baby showed signs of severe respiratory distress and her arterial blood gas analysis revealed respiratory acidosis. The ultrasound confirmed a diagnosis of left-sided hydropneumothorax or spontaneous neonatal pleural effusion. The article states that the baby was discharged on day 12 with a weight of 2.25 kilograms.
