Abstract: The author reflects on studies investigating patients with intracranial arachnoid cysts. He relates a study of 11,738 consecutive series of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in children over 11-12-year period showing symptomatic cysts among 35 patients. He also discusses dynamic studies determining the communication between cysts and subarachnoid spaces through computed tomography (CT) cisternography or cine mode MRI.
