Abstract

The article describes the case of a 51-year-old, HIV-positive, white, unemployed man who was referred by his primary care physician for the management of fatigue. The patient had a history of bipolar disorder and methamphetamine addiction. He was given sertraline and amphetamine salt-based medication. The man was diagnosed to have methamphetamine addiction, which has multiple effects in the central nervous system.
