- Abstract
This article discusses the engagement of nursing in health policy and healthcare in the U.S. through social media. It explores the history of collaborative digital communication in the form of social media and Web 2.0. It highlights some of the challenges facing healthcare environments in the use of social media. In addition, the article enumerates the advantages of social media to nursing, including drug safety alerts from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
