- Abstract
Land is a place for humans to live and live their lives. The increasing need for land has an impact on increasing land cases. Land settlements are resolved through competent judicial institutions, namely the PTUN and the General Court. The PTUN’s authority is related to administrative aspects, hile the General Court is related to civil aspects. However, in practice there is a point of competence between the PTUN and the General Court. Apart from that, there are differences in the decisions of judges in General Court and PTUN for the same land settlement cases. Thus making the resolution of land disputes increasingly less comprehensive and giving rise to legal coverage. Therefore, the problem raised is what are the characteristics of land justice in Indonesia and what is the ideal concept of a land justice institution. To answer this problem, the author uses normative research methods. The research results show that the conflicts and agrarian settlements that occur are dominated by vertical and horizontal conflicts. So we need a court institution that is specifically intended to handle land settlement in order to alleviate land cases in Indonesia. The land justice government specifically only carries out land inspections and trials, both in terms of land civil, land criminal, and land administration issues issued by TUN officials.
