Bedside ultrasound in rheumatology practice is a growing field of interest for the specialty, particularly over the last decade in which it has been found to be useful beyond the classically described musculoskeletal applications. This tool allows images to be obtained quickly, without the risk of ionizing radiation, and helps the clinician take measures at the bedside. This is especially important in settings like ours, where resources are limited and these types of strategies may be cost-effective. In the following chapter, we summarize general interest information in the field of rheumatology for musculoskeletal and non-musculoskeletal applications, emphasizing each of the points of interest along each of these lines. Finally, we propose an overview of the use of bedside ultrasound in the specialty of rheumatology and what is expected regarding its adaptation and use in rheumatology.
