DENUMIRI ALE PĂRȚILOR DE SAT PE BAZA MATERIALULUI ONOMASTIC DIN ALR II.

This paper analyses the names of village parts in the onomastic material recorded in the inquiry notebooks for ALR II and published by Doina Grecu, Ion Mării and Rodica Orza, being an attempt at their classification according to different linguistic criteria. Under the generic name of parts of the village, both communication routes (roads, streets, paths) and residential areas on the territory of the village (around the centre or on the outskirts of the village, clusters of isolated houses, hamlets) are identified. From the point of view of their origin, the names of village parts collected during ALR II investigation can be classified into three categories: 1. names based on a group name; 2. names based on other topical names; 3. names whose structure includes orientation landmarks. The names of communication routes are treated in a different category, because they often contain, in addition to an anthroponym, group names or toponyms, some orientation markers: downhill/from below, uphill/from above, etc. The second part of the article approaches the toponymic material according to the structure of the toponyms.
