Vocalization recordings of the Spotted Owl (Strix occidentalis) in the Sierra San Pedro Mártir, Baja California, Mexico.

We provide vocalization recordings of a male Spotted Owl (Strix occidentalis) in a meadow of the Sierra San Pedro Mártir, Baja California, Mexico, on 27 April 2023, whose presence had been recently noted but not verified with vocalization records. This recording confirms the current presence of the species in northern Baja California and suggests the existence of a potentially important reservoir of intact habitat.
