Abstract

Heterogeneous catalysis played, plays, and will continue to play a major key role in industrial processes for the large-scale synthesis of commodity chemicals of global importance [[1]] and in catalytic systems that possess a critical role in energy generation [[3]] and environmental protection approaches [[9]]. Zhao et al. [[21]] produced ZrO SB 2 sb nanoparticles, ZrO SB 2 sb (P) and ZrO SB 2 sb (H), with different tetragonal phase content (higher in the former), which was used as support for the preparation of 10 wt % Ni/ZrO SB 2 sb catalysts via impregnation. The catalysts were characterized by means of XRD, Raman, H SB 2 sb -TPR, XPS, and H SB 2 sb -TPD techniques, and their catalytic performance was evaluated under the hydrogenation of maleic anhydride toward succinic anhydride and -butyrolacetone. The obtained insight could stimulate new strategies for ZrO SB 2 sb -based catalysts performance optimization under , -unsaturated aldehyde, and ketone hydrogenation reactions by modulating the surface structure of ZrO SB 2 sb supports.
