The article "Characterization of the complete chloroplast genome of the endangered and endemic Bornean fruit Artocarpus tamaran Becc." published in Frontiers in Plant Science discusses the conservation status, habitat, and utilization of Artocarpus tamaran, an endangered species endemic to Borneo. The study successfully assembles the complete chloroplast genome of A. tamaran, revealing a quadripartite structure with 129 annotated genes. The research provides valuable insights into chloroplast gene functions and potential applications in industrial targets and food crop biofortification. The study was funded by the National Research and Innovation Agency and conducted without any conflicts of interest.
