Abstract

In this study, magnetic iron oxide/graphene oxide (Fe3O4/GO) nanocomposites were prepared by in situ method. It was found that the suitable ratio of Fe3O4/GO for lead ions (Pb2 ) removal was 2:1 (FGO2). The adsorption conditions of Pb2 onto FGO2 were studied using response surface methodology (RSM) with Box- Behnken design. In RSM model, the interactive effects of critical variables including contact time, initial concentration, and pH on the adsorption capacity were investigated. The adsorption process followed the Langmuir isotherm model. Based on these results, FGO2 could be used as an efficient adsorbent for removal of Pb2 from wat
