Abstract

This study includes the Hidirellez celebration of Balikesir Tahtacis. Tahtacis are an Alevi-Turkmen group living in the western and southern coast of Anatolia in general. Festival of Hidirellez that celebrated to meet the spring particularly in Anatolia and the Balkans is celebrated as the spring festival between May 5 to 7 with various applications between Tahtacis also. Hidirellez celebrations between Tahtacis of Balıkesir were handled with the Hidirellez traditions of other Tahtacis in Anatolia in comparison, has been determined that the celebration of Hıdırellez of Tahtacis to be generally similar and it was found that traces of the old Turkish culture. In this study, Hidirellez celebration of Balikesir Tahtacis was investigated in terms of applications related to abundance and fertility, applications related to purification and health, visit the tomband victim applications.
