TÜRKİYE'NİN GASTRONOMİ TURİZMİ DESTİNASYONLARININ BELİRLENMESİ: YERLİ TURİSTLER ÜZERİNE BİR ARAŞTIRMA.

Abstract

This study aims to examine and determine the gastronomic tourism destinations for domestic tourists in Turkey. The study is thought to make significant contributions for determining the gastronomic tourism destinations in Turkey. In this context; a study has been conducted by applying the questionnaire technic to 3539 domestic tourists living in Turkey. As a result of the findings, it has been found out that domestic tourists mainly want to visit Southeastern Anatolia Region as the geographical region and respectively Gaziantep, Trabzon and Erzurum as cities for gastronomic tourism in Turkey. It has also been concluded that when it comes to the Turkish cuisine, the first thing that comes to mind is "kebab" as the dish, "ayran" as the beverage and "baklava" as the dessert. In light of these results, suggestions are made to offer contribution to tourism establishments and destinations.
