This study aims to review the relations between university students' Transactional Analysis Ego States and protective factors and parental reactions to adolescent distress in their family. In addition, students' T.A. Ego States is examined according to their gender, family type, parents' education level and social-economic level. The study group consists of 295 students (211 female, 84 male) studying at Marmara University' and Balıkesir University' in different departments. Relational screening method was used in the research. The data was collected by using Ego States Scale, Inventory of Family Protective Factors, Perceived Parental Reactions to Adolescent Distress Scale and personal information form that was prepared by the researcher. The results showed that T.A. Ego States of students correlate with both protective factors and parental reactions to adolescent distress in their family. Also, T.A. Ego States of the students showed significant difference as to gender and family type by them, whereas parent' educational level of socail-aconomic level did not have effect on T.A. Ego States. The findings were discussed within the scope of related literature and similar studies, then various proposals were brought forward.
