Abstract

Considered is the parameterization of turbulent distribution of aerosol in the cloud medium, basing on three-stage diffusion model, in which the first, second, and third stages describe diffusion at small, intermediate (comparable with the Lagrangian scale), and large time intervals, respectively. Used are semiempirical diffusion equations which take into account the features of diffusion at different stages. The effects of temperature and humidity stratification on vertical turbulent regime are suggested to be described by means of the modified Richardson number. The distribution of crystallizing aerosol in a thick convective cloud is numerically studied from the point of view of hail-protection technology.
