Abstract

The author discusses the devastation of the 2010 earthquake in Haiti and the inspiration to be drawn from efforts to address it. She notes the social and historical issues which affect the situation in Haiti and Haiti's ability to respond effectively. She also explores the ability of the American Educational Research Association (AERA) to illuminate such issues and recommend public policies.
