Abstract: The article comments on the U.S. Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), which protects the privacy rights of student information in educational records. The article discusses the efforts and responsibilities of the American Educational Research Association, the emphasis placed on education that is scientifically based with the No Child Left Behind Act, and the Workshop on Protecting Student Records and Facilitating Education Research.
