Title: Registration of clinical trials - a regional perspective.

Abstract: The author reflects on the feasibility of establishing a clinical trials registry platform in Mediterranean countries which is similar to a platform which has been established by the World Health Organization. He suggests that the registration of clinical trials is being enforced by at least one of several mandates. He argues that trial registry platforms will help to prevent wasteful duplication of research and identify opportunities for collaboration between researchers.
