- Authors

- Abstract
The article explores the antifungal activity of Myrrh gum resin against pathogenic Candida species. The study evaluates the effectiveness of water-based extracts from two varieties of myrrh in inhibiting the growth of Candida spp. The results show that both tested species of myrrh exhibit inhibitory effects on all tested isolates, with essential oils derived from myrrh showing significant effects on various Candida species. Further research is needed to understand the specific mechanisms of action, efficacy, toxicity, and safety of these extracts before considering clinical applications.
