- Abstract
This article discusses the Roman philosopher and poet Lucretius and his popularity during the Victorian era. The article mentions three factors that led to his popularity during this time period: the increased quality in the publication of translations, the growth of secularism, and the discoveries and work in the field of physics. The translation of Lucretius' book "De Rerum Natura" by H. A. J. Munro is discussed, along with the article "The Atomic Theory of Lucretius" by John Masson.
