Abstract: The authors reflect on the management of non-communicable diseases in low and middle income countries. The suggest that the global political commitment necessary to tackle the burden of non-communicable diseases has increased. They argue that ongoing research and behavioral change among health care providers may help in the prevention and management of non-communicable diseases in low and middle income countries.
