Abstract

The article discusses the effect of hair dye on fetal health and development during pregnancy. It features the study "Reproductive outcome among female hairdressers," by L. Rylander and colleagues which examines the birth weights and pre-term labor rates of hairdressers. Also discussed is the different effects of temporary hair dyes with semi-permanent dyes based on the penetration of the dye deposits on the hair cuticle.
