- Abstract
The article discusses the several formulas with different rationale that have been proposed to measure reading expectancy. However, there have been a numerous warnings regarding the use of reading expectancy formulas. The type of reading expectancy formula used could affect numerous children identified as having a reading disabilities as well as the type of child being identified. The purpose is to explicate the origin and use of reading expectancy formulas and to examine the extent of different reading expectancy formulas that could predict reading achievement.
