Title

The Place of Botany in a Unified Science of Biology.

Authors

Stebbins, G. Ledyard

Abstract

The article offers the author's views on the place of botany as a branch of biological sciences and the differences of the subject from the physical sciences. It is opined that the biological sciences can be taught as a unified discipline unlike the physical sciences. It is also opined that a teacher would fail in his or her task if a student of biology is not made aware of the extent of biodiversity at the very beginning of his study.
