Luis Alomía-Zegarra, José

Abstract

Given the new federal proposal of the MAS-Bienestar national health system, in the state of Sonora, at the end of 2023, the implementation of the National Public Health Service (SNSP, by its acronym in Spanish) and its main subcomponents began, both at the central and district levels. To carry it out, three stages were defined: establishment, implementation and operation. As of the date of this publication, the first two stages are 100% completed and the third and final stage are 85% complete. This article details the actions carried out and the achievements obtained in each of the three stages and also looks ahead to the future of the SNSP, which in the coming months will be an operational reality in Sonora. Finally, the process of concluding the transfer of medical care services to the new decentralized public body IMSS-BIENESTAR health services is noted. With the above, in the entity it will now be possible to attend and begin operations in the main components of the new MAS-Bienestar health system.
