In order to solve the problems of low efficiency of manual detection and subjective factors, a new method of surface quality detection based on linear structured, light was proposed in this paper* By collecting surface images of fabrics using line laser scanning and extracting the centerline of light stripes based on the Steger algorithm, the edge contour features of the plush fabric were obtained based on the principle of structured light. The sequential thickness curve generates a three-dimensional point cloud of the fabric surface. By analyzing the point cloud data a parametric model of thickness and unevenness parameters for evaluating the surface quality of plush fabrics was established > achieving a digital representation of the surface quality of plush fabrics* Experimental results show that the thickness values measured by this method have a deviation of less than 0. 1 mm compared to manual measurements. Moreoverthis method completes the parametric representation of the unevenness of plush fabrics, allowing for a more effective quantitative evaluation of the surface quality of plush fabrics.
