- Abstract
The article "Preclassic sculpted monuments of western Soconusco, Chiapas, Mexico. The representations of obese individuals" highlights the archaeological importance of the Soconusco region in Chiapas, Mexico, and its cultural diversity. Professor Carlos Navarrete analyzes preclassic sculptures associated with sites such as Tiltepec and Tzutzuculi, showing the cultural integration of the region. The presence of sculptures of obese individuals and other symbolic representations that reflect the cultural richness of the area is emphasized.
