Ecology and economic growth: the challenge of building consensus.

Abstract

The author reflects on the difficulty to achieve consensus among the members of the Ecological Society of America (ESA) particularly in terms of views and opinions. She mentions the statement of ESA expressing its stand on the ecological aspects of economic growth which received diverge views among its members. However, the author believes that it is still necessary for ESA to take part in issues that involve economic improvement.
