- Abstract
This research, which aims to develop a valid and reliable self-efficacy scale in the field of guitar accompaniment, was designed in the survey research design, one of the quantitative research designs. The population of the research consists of 4th grade undergraduate students of the department of music education in Turkey. In the research using cluster sampling unit with random sampling method, n=242 participants from 21 universities were reached. The Kaiser-Mayer-Olkin (KMO) value of the 'Self-Efficacy Scale in the Field of Guitar Accompaniment', which was designed as a 5-point Likert type and initially consisted of 84 items, was .96 and the Bartlett's Test of Sphericity result was determined as (χ2=21249.64; p<.05). As a result of the exploratory factor analysis (EFA), it was seen that the scale had a 3-factor structure and consisted of 22 items. In line with the literature review and expert opinions, the variance rates of the sub-factors named 'Creativity', 'Technical Skill' and 'Motivation' were 54.59%, 9.89% and 6.37%, respectively, and the total variance explained was 70.85%. As a result of the reliability test, Cronbach's Alpha values were calculated for each sub-factor (aCreativity=.94; aTechnical Skill=.94; aMotivation=.90) and for the whole scale (aEntire Scale=.96). As a result, the 'Self-Efficacy Scale in the Field of Guitar Accompaniment' has been revealed as a valid and reliable scale.
