Abstract

The article presents a study on the nucleotide sequences to infer relationships of the enigmatic asiatic fern Genera Diplaziopsis and Rhachidosorus from the four plastid genes including chloroplasts rbcl, atpB, and atpA. It states that the four plastid gene sequence analysis support the relationship of the two generas and the North American Homolosorus, which is an early diverging lineage of Woodsiaceae. It is suggested that study on its gametophytes be made to test the relationship hypotheses.
