The electricity signal under the high proportion of photovoltaic new energy integration exhibits strong randomness, fast time-varying and large fluctuation characteristics, which often leads to serious over tolerance of electricity metering of electric energy meters and affects the fairness and rationality of electricity trading. Regarding the issues of unclear sensitive characteristics of new energy electricity signals and unclear impact on energy metering of electricity meters, the theory of run domain mapping is established, which solves the problem of characterizing electric energy signals in the run domain. The run domain empirical mode decomposition (R-EMD) method is proposed. Two globally important features of photovoltaic new energy electricity signals are obtained based on adaptive mode decomposition of current amplitude in local intervals over long durations. Then, the characteristic parameters and functions in the run domain are constructed, and four sensitive features in the run domain of the photovoltaic new energy electricity signals are extracted. The influence of run domain sensitive features on electricity metering is verified through experiments.
