Abstract: The author discusses the relation between gastric cancer and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). The author mentions a study by L. H. Nissen and colleagues where they investigates risk factors linked with the development of gastric cancers in IBD patients in Netherlands. The study shows that gastric cancer's main risk factor in the Dutch population is infection with Helicobacter pylori.
