The article discusses research on the temporal activity of Pipistrellus nathusii in wooded and open riparian sites. Conducted in the Reda Valley in Wejherowo, northern Poland, the study, through broadband ultrasound detection, found that bats usually hunt over wooded sites at dusk and dawn. On the other hand, these bats hunted over open sites after midnight. It concluded that anti-predatory behavior was the main reason behind the difference in activity in both groups of sites. Also tackled in the research were insect abundance, wind speed and temperature.
