Abstract: The article discusses the North American response to Batrachochytrium salamandrivorans (Bsal), a fungal pathogen that has caused deaths of native salamanders in Europe. The concern over the associated risk of Bsal to native salamanders in North America is noted. A call for the creation of a North American Bsal Strategic Plan to prevent the spread of the pathogen is also mentioned.
