- Abstract
Kanamycin is a commonly used aminoglycoside anti-infective drug with good antimicrobial effects against most Enterobacteriaceae bacteria and is often used in animal husbandry and aquaculture. However, excessive amount of kanamycin can be a threat to human health. Therefore, it is crucial to develop a concise and rapid assay for kanamycin. Colorimetric assay based on nanozymes is considered as one of the effective methods for rapid and efficient detection of pollutants. Compared with natural enzymes, nanozymes have the advantages of simple synthesis, controllable cost, high stability and high catalytic efficiency. Therefore, a polyoxometalates-based material, [H3PW12O40 (BPE) 2.5]·3H2O(PW12/BPE) (BPE=1,2-bis (4-pyridyl) ethane), was synthesized by hydrothermal method in this work. PW12/BPE exhibited satisfactory laccase-like activity as a nanozyme. Kinetic study showed that the laccase-mimicking performance of PW12/BPE is low in Km but high in Vmax. Colorimetric assay was carried out for the content of kanamycin based on the laccase-like performance of PW12/BPE. The results exhibited a good linear relationship between kanamycin concentration and absorbance, and the LOD was as low as 16.66 μmol·L-1.
