- Abstract
The article "From Linguistic Bridge Builder to Aspiring Physician" by Manuel Patiño recounts his journey from being a medical interpreter to pursuing a career in medicine. Growing up as the only fluent English speaker in his Colombian immigrant family, Patiño felt compelled to help his parents navigate the complexities of the healthcare system. His experiences as an interpreter, particularly in emotionally charged situations like interpreting during medical procedures, inspired him to pursue a career in medicine.
