- Abstract
This experiment was to study the effects of different dose of Lactobacillus plantarum on digestive abilities of weaning piglets. Lactobacillus plantarum was cultured in vitro with MRS medium, the activities of digestive enzymes contained in fermented liquid were measured. Then, 160 healthy weaned piglets with an average body weight (6.80±0.23) kg in age of 28 days were selected for experiment. They were divided into four groups with 40 piglets in each group. Piglets in control group fed with basal diet. In experiment group 1, 2, and 3, the diets were supplemented with 3‰, 6‰ Lactobacillus plantarum fermented liquid or aureomycin (contained 3 mg per kilogram diet). The feed duration was 28 d. After fed for 7 d, fence of piglets was collected. The digestive ratio of nutrition in diet was measured with indicator method. After fed for 28 d, piglets were weighed and calculated average daily feed intake (ADFI) and average daily gain (ADG) of piglets in each group. The duodenum was sampled and their content was collected to measure the activities of digestive enzymes. The ileum was also sampled to test the bacterial composition. Results indicated Lactobacillus plantarum can secrete the digestive enzymes protease, lipase, α and β amylase, whose activities reached 698.29, 164.47, 209.29, and 728.41 U/mL respectively. Compared with control group, final body weight in experiment 1 was improved 1.56 kg (P<0.05), ADG was improved 41 g (P<0.05). The activities of protease, lipase, α and β amylase in duodenal content were significantly increased in experiment 1 compared with control (P<0.05). The composition of ileal bacteria was significantly improved (P<0.05), the number of Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium were significantly increased (P<0.05), the number of Enterococcus, Escherichia coli and Salmonella were significantly declined (P<0.05). The moisture content in fences, the crude fiber content and energy residue were significantly reduced (P<0.05) in experiment 1. In conclusion, Lactobacillus plantarum owing the abilities of secretion of protease, lipase, α and β amylase. Diet supplemented with 3‰ liquid Lactobacillus plantarum fermentation can improve the nutrition digestion and absorption, improve the body growth, and reduce morbidity, promote the efficacy of production.
