- Title
Paralogical Hyperbole: A "Missing Link" Between Technical and Public Spheres.
- Authors
Coleman, Miles C.
- Abstract
The article describes an array of discursive moves related to paralogic hyperbole commonly used by agents to rhetorically shape scientific claims that are not defensible within the technical sphere into claims that superficially may seem technically defensible to broader publics. The objects of analysis include a book, a website and a television documentary that shares the same title "The Link" which are popularization efforts based on a controversial scientific report, PLOS ONE.
